Palmstead advertising campaign
Palmstead Nurseries Ltd is a wholesale plant grower based in Wye, Kent, stocking a large and diverse range of products to suit any planting project. They pride themselves on their ability to provide premium quality plants at affordable prices with an absolute focus on customer service.
A family-owned business for over 50 years, Palmstead is a well-respected player within the commercial landscaping industry and local community. And with people truly at its heart, it has retained a high proportion of long-standing customers and employees, many of the latter having developed their careers performing a range of different roles within the Company.
Palmstead approached Vincent Design to rethink their 2021/22 advertising campaign as they felt they needed to communicate more consistently and wanted to try and engage more effectively with their design-savvy clients who are primarily commercial contractors, garden designers, landscape architects and public sector organisations.
“Working with Vincent Design on re-imagining our marketing for 2021 was a really thought-provoking and enlightening experience. They listened in depth to our thoughts and feelings about who we were as a company, our core values and the direction change we wished to explore and produced some inspiring ideas for us to consider and then implement. We were over the moon with the final results of the project and we look forward to working with Vincent Design on many more projects in the future.”

Working alongside Get Fruitful Marketing, we led a strategy development workshop to better understand the Company’s core values, key objectives, audiences and heritage.
“Nick and his team are a pleasure to work with – personable, creative, passionate. They take real care to understand their clients’ needs on a deep level to deliver excellent results with a keen eye for detail.”

We then used the outcomes to structure a new messaging approach that focused on the ways in which Palmstead can help in “bringing your design ideas to life”. This sentiment really resonated with the Palmstead team as it highlighted their collaborative and people-focused approach. We then paired this simple message with a series of beautiful reportage images of people being tactile with plants throughout the seasons.
The campaign appeared both on and offline across a range of trade publications and websites including Pro Landscaper, Garden Design Journal and the British Association Landscape Industries’ Landscape News.
The initial project proved very successful and led to Vincent Design being asked to refine Palmstead’s primary logo and apply this to their livery design and other marketing material.
