Ashford Borough Council — Snowdogs Discover Ashford 2018
For 10 weeks in Autumn 2018, Ashford Borough Council in partnership with Wild in Art and local Kent charity Pilgrims Hospices made the streets and open spaces of Ashford a fantastic, family-friendly art trail of individually designed and beautifully created giant Snowdog Sculptures (themed on Raymond Brigg’s classic The Snowman and the Snowdog).
This magical event boosted the local economy, inspired civic pride and showcased the borough’s best assets.
Vincent Design were initially commissioned to create a fundraising flyer to drum-up sponsorship interest across the local business community, but the scope of the project grew rapidly to include designing the main visual identity assets – logo, colour palette, typography. Then progressed into producing a suite of printed literature – launch invitation, sponsors booklet, artists’ pack and ultimately the free trail map. A series of banners were also required, and a fully responsive website was designed to promote the event online.
Within the first week of the project 31,000 trail maps were used, and enjoyed.
171,953 Facebook impressions in first 5 weeks.
County Square shopping mall reported a weekly footfall of 124,118 after launch, an increase of over 11%.
